From Singapore to REDANG ISLAND

I was in Pulau Redang with my longest leg 2 years ago, it hasn’t change much, ie the clear blue aqua waters, the white sands and the colourful underwater creatures!!  I am still very impressed with how nice and clean the island is after so many years.

We took a 9 hours bus ride from Butterworth to Kuala Terengganu, and a 40 mins boat ride to the island. This is the economical way of traveling to the East Coast from the West Coast. If you have the extra cash, you can always fly over which only take 50mins!

It was all worth the long bus ride when we got closer to the island! Our resort is right at the edge of the island… check the photos out.. we’ve got to walk through some bridge to get to our resort. It’s not the best in the island, but they provide 4 meals a day, nice clean room (only the basics, ie no tv…or any luxury) and they will take us out to nice snorkel site twice a day! and all that for RM280 per person!! we got the special price cos my brother and cousin are student!

Every resort has their Dive Shop.. and every dive shop is different in price! So we scout around and the most recomended Dive Shop is in “Redang Bay Resort” with the best price and friendly and helpful people!! I did geared up for my dive, walk out to the boat, jump off the boat and start decending…. guess what, I couldn’t equalise my ear again!!! sigh.. sigh… I could only watch my brother decend with the dive master and wave to me as I told them I’m going back up! The water is soooo clear I could see them 18 meters above! well, the boat picked me up and took me to a snorkel spot! So, I snorkel as they dive! Well, I don’t have to pay anything!! how good is that??!!  And we rented a digital underwater camera for RM50 for the day! we got some nice shots!! =)  ohh.. not forgetting, the water is not as freezing cold compare to Perth.. I only wore a 3mm n short wetsuit!! where pingping standing below her ass

One Response to From Singapore to REDANG ISLAND

Two Fridays ago, DH’s company went to Berjaya Redang Resort for a company holiday. He took me and Ian together and we went their by Berjaya Air.

We’ve decided not to bring Isabel coz she is really difficult to handle, and I think she won’t enjoy.

It was a trip that Ian had long waited. We have ‘used’ this trip to make him do a lot of things, including eat vegetables and stuff. So, even he has just recovered from his fever on Friday morning itself, we still went ahead, otherwise it is considered a break of promise!

Before the trip, we bought a set of tools for sand play. It came in a pail, a few shovels, molds, etc. I am glad that we’ve decided to buy the set with vehicle molds instead of sea creature molds coz came in the package was a goodie bag with another set of sand play toys! In that set, there was another set of shovels and (luckily) sea creature molds.

When we arrived at the island in the evening, we immediately changed and went to the beach. Ian played with the sand for a good time. He has been waiting for this moment. Before that, back home, he has been imagining what he could do with those toys!

On Saturday, we went to the pool. Somewhat, he was too afraid of the water and wouldn’t even use the float. He just played at the wading pool. He started to get bored with the sand play, refused to go to the beach again. He kept complaining that the sand on his feet, and refused to walk barefooted!

On Sunday, it was worst. He said his right leg was painful that he couldn’t walk. He wanted to be carried all time. It was strange though, coz he really walked in limply manner. We brought him to the clinic and doctor couldn’t diagnose anything!

That’s how the trip has gone. I didn’t go snorkeling or island tour, but DH did. We don’t think Ian could go, coz he is also rejecting the float and water completely.

One day, when I settle in my new house, I will definitely want to give him swimming lessons!
