Beckham would be joining Milan

It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Beckham would be joining Milan, however now the official confirmation has arrived from the Italian giants.

Vice President Adriano Galliani held successful talks in Milan this afternoon with lawyers of the England international, and a loan deal commencing on January 7, 2009, has been signed, sealed and delivered.

A brief statement on the official Milan website ran as follows:

“MILAN – A.C. Milan communicate the arrival of the footballer David Beckham on loan. The agreement is official: the English champion will be a Rossonero starting from 7 January 2009, when the lists will open.”

The 33-year-old, who has previously starred for Manchester United and Real Madrid, will play both Serie A and UEFA Cup games for Milan, and his first match could be an away clash at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma on January 11.

In some updated news on this move, Galliani has revealed that Beckham will stay with Milan for three months before returning to LA Galaxy.

“Beckham will remain with us only for three months, then he will go back to the USA. He has too many marketing contracts with
LA Galaxy,” the transfer guru stated.
