Storage solutions company Western Digital has released a device which allows users to transmit media stored on their PCs to a TV or HDTV.
The WD TV HD Media Player can broadcast digital content in 1080p full-HD from an external hard disk or thumdrive.
The idea is to leave the WD TV HD Media Player attached to your TV, either via the HDMI or RCA port. Movies, music and other media can be subsequently added through thumbdrives or other USB storage devices.
With the provided remote control, the media can then be browsed through and played on demand.
This model has two USB ports and so its potential storage space depends on the two storage devices that can be attached to it simultaneously.
Western Digital believes that this finally solves the problem of enjoying media content on your TV instead of having to sit at your computer.
