LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Nokia gracing the booths

The Hello Handphone fair now makes it way to the heart of Klang, at the BBT One commercial centre.

Much like the Handphone fair at PGRM, the fair is held at a 100m walkway between two buildings.

The fair again sees major manufacturers like LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Nokia gracing the booths. So is the new Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic, GD Work’s own D’Fone S68 is also on display.

40,000 people are expected the three-day fair which runs until Sunday. First-day visitors Rajen Thran, Affa, Wan, and Amir are teachers from the nearby Sekolah Rendah Teluk Gong were curious after passing by their favourite hangout spot and saw the banners when they decided to come take a look. English teacher Rajen bought a printer at the fair, and commented that it was cheaper than it was outside. Meanwhile, Wan were assisted by Amir and Affa on choosing a Motorola phone.

Even the exhibitors were in on the action, Sales and Marketing executive Kenzea Tan who had a booth at the fair also bought two phones at GD’s own booth, across from his own. “The phones were cheap, so I just decided to buy the Philips 392 and 598,”he said.

GD Work, Head of Sales, Yee Kok Loong, said “Feedback from some of our customers, said that the fair was too far for them and they didn’t want to drive all the way down to KL, so we bought the fair to them instead.”

Meanwhile, technician Juzaizam bought a Nokia E71 which he described as “extremely cheap”. He explained that the E71 is the upgrade he was pining for, and he even brought his two young daughters to help him.

The fair also saw much more diversity of their products, ranging from perfumes to IT products.

The fair opens from 11am -10pm and will run from 15 to 18 January.
