Indonesian television reports that the huge lizards attacked the fisherman at Indonesia’s Komodo National Park.
Muhamad Anwar, a 32-year-old fisherman died from heavy bleeding after being attacked by Komodo dragons on Komodo island in eastern Indonesia. Fellow fishermen tried to save him from the attack, but failed.
Attacks by Komodo dragons, the worlds heaviest lizards on humans are rare. The last attack was in 2007 when a boy was killed on the island. There are about 2,000 protected and endangered dragons living in the wild, mainly on Indonesia’s Komodo and Rinca Islands.
