PANASONIC Malaysia Sdn Bhd plans to launch the world’s largest plasma television (TV), at 150 inches, in Malaysia next week at its Panasonic Revolution 09 Roadshow.
Managing director Tony Endoh says the 150-inch plasma TV is one of the models in its Viera plasma series to be launched at the roadshow.
He says the five-day roadshow starting Wednesday at the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya, is aimed at boosting consumer spending and the company’s sales.

“This is to give some excitement in the market and encourage consumers to buy some value-for-money items, thus helping to spur the country’s economy in a small way.
“We are not only looking at the bottom line but we want consumers to also see the future consumer electronic products and technology,” he tells StarBizWeek.
Endoh says the 150-inch plasma TV will be the largest TV introduced by Panasonic in Malaysia. The 150-inch plasma TV was showcased last year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and IFA show in Berlin, Germany.
He says the giant plasma TV is expected to generate new demand from various fields such as industry for use in commercial and public facilities, and consumers for family entertainment.
At the roadshow, Endoh said Panasonic Malaysia will also showcase its ultra slim 8.8mm 50-inch Neo plasma TV and a super high-efficiency 42-inch Neo plasma TV as well as its latest audio and visual technologies and products.
The roadshow will also display other products such as home appliances, health and beauty items, LUMIX cameras and SD camcorders.
Consumers will be able to purchase products at promotional rates and receive some free gifts at the roadshow, Endoh adds.
