Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas insists that his team-mates are optimistic about their chances of attaining silverware this season.
The Gunners face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final and Manchester United at the same stage in the Champions League.
The Spanish international midfielder recognises that both ties will be extremely difficult for the north London outfit, especially as their squad lacks experience compared to the aforementioned duo.
However, the 21-year-old firmly believes Arsenal have unrivalled qualities of their own which can help guide them to glory this term.
“I respect United for what they have achieved in the last few years. For me, they are still the best,” Fabregas is quoted as saying in The Sun.
“But I am not scared of them. At Arsenal, we are not scared of anyone and the way we play shows that. We might not have the same experience as United or Chelsea but I am not concerned about that. I don’t mind at all.
“We have the confidence, the illusion and the excitement to play. We always try to go forward and have a direct, aggressive way of playing on the counterattack.
“For such a young team it is quite unbelievable the way we approach these big games and we will look to do the same against United in the Champions League and against Chelsea in the FA Cup.”
