Teoh Beng Hock murdered

Teoh Beng Hock, who was to register his marriage with his fiancee Sue Sue Quay today had planned to quit as political secretary to Selangor legislative assembly member Ean Yong Hian Wah.

Sue, 28, when met at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital mortuary here last night, said Teoh had told her that the job was too hectic for him.

“I was supposed to get a transfer and move to his hometown in Malacca and he was to move there soon after,” said Sue.

Sue, a schoolteacher in Semenyih, added they had also planned to go on a honeymoon after the registration.

Among those at the mortuary were Ean Yong and Pandamaran assemblyman Ronnie Liu.

A small fracas broke out when mortuary staff refused to allow Liu to see Teoh’s remains that arrived at about 9.30pm.

They latched the door from inside the room, resulting in an angry Liu to kick the door thrice.

When the latch gave way, Liu and his driver went in and a short argument ensued.

The mortuary staff, however, allowed Sue and Teoh’s siblings to view the body.

Teoh’s friends and former colleagues from Sin Chew Jit Poh could not believe that he would end his life in such a tragic way as they described him as a reporter who was soft-spoken, sincere, dedicated to his work and someone who had “faith in life”.

“He would not take his own life just like that,’’ said Tan Yu Chyan, also a former journalist with the Chinese daily.

Tan, who was based in the newspaper’s Putrajaya bureau, said Teoh, who worked in the Kajang office, had resigned to become Ean Yong’s political secretary in April last year.

“We were supposed to meet for dinner last week but he could not make it.

“He telephoned me yesterday (Wednesday) morning but I was busy and could not talk to him,’’ he said.

The MACC Director of Investigation and the Minister who spoke on the tragic death of this young man do not understand the meaning of human decency and they have no conscience at all. How on earth that we have these people in such positions?

This involves one of the key institution of the country to safeguard the interest of the Rakyat and Image of the country. Not accountable to Parliament but The Prime Minister, the country expects nothing less that our Police will investgiate the case in thorough.

Our Prime Minsister 1Malaysia seems to go off course and each time, he tries to instill the 1Malaysia Concept, each time the steering wheel goes off course.

What is happening to this beloved country of ours.?

Had the founding fathers of our country envisage that this beautiful country of ours will be ruined through this pillar of institution who are to safeguard the interest of the country, respects the rule of law or are we back to stone age.?

All priorities and action taken seems so wrong and in times of such global uncertainties , this will only spell disaster for the country.

Who is there to protect the Rakyat?

Who is on the wrong side of the law now?

Ministers, Senators and Representatives of all Governmental Departments and NGOs , Business Guilds must not cordon such cover ups.

“What is happening to this beloved country of ours.?”
The question put forward by Malay nationalists then ( during fight for independence ) was ,what will happen to this beloved country of ours. H.S Lee insisted to maintain Chinese press, vernacular school and so on. So were the Indians.Assimilation into the inbound country was dismissed. No foresight but greed and ambition were the ambitions. Those were the people who bought lives of their time at the price of their future generations. Now racial polarity is widening by the day.Racial tensions escalating silently, like fire in peat soil. The death of one political assistant whose contribution to society let alone to the nation is non, became a furor to the nation, expounded with bias and conjectures by politicians.People must realize that politicians don’t care about future generations. They are all for themselves, just like their mentors.Great nations are built with sacrifices. Ask yourself what sacrifice have you done, except to demand with no bounds. Beng Hock was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
