Australian Miss Universe Rachael Finch

Australian Miss Universe contender Rachael Finch has revealed she is so obsessed with hygiene she engages in a foot-scrubbing ritual every night before going to bed.

The Townsville beauty was dubbed “clean as can be” during the first official round of judging in the Bahamas yesterday.

“Every night before Australia goes to bed she washes the bottom of her feet,” the host said as Ms Finch took the stage.

“This 21-year-old says she can’t fall asleep otherwise.

“Australia says she really enjoys writing and hopes to one day author a self-help book for girls.”

Ms Finch’s family has travelled to the Bahamas, where the winner is set to be announced on Sunday.

Her father, Steve Finch, said Rachael has what it takes to be Miss Universe.

“She’s down-to-earth, practical, and she does her homework,” Mr Finch told the Herald Sun.

“She’s already got a fairly good tan and we spent a bit of time prior to her leaving going out waterskiing in Townsville, so I think she’s pageant-fit.

Mr Finch said he is also excited to see celebrity pageant owner Donald Trump.

“We do hope to meet him,” Mr Finch said.

“I would say to him ‘you’ve picked a good winner there’ — but only if it’s Rachael.
