Victoria Beckham has been left “shocked and deeply saddened” following the reported theft of her latest collection of dresses.
Between 50 and 75 gowns were taken during a knife-point hijack of a lorry in London on Thursday, according to The Mirror.
A driver had collected the evening wear, thought to be worth £350,000, from Beckham’s management offices in West London, and was taking the Spring/Summer 2010 collection to the airport to be flown to New York.
He was left shaken and bruised after allegedly being forced to the ground during the roadside heist.
A source said that Beckham’s gowns have developed a “money-can’t-buy” exclusivity, adding: “The thieves must feel they can make a fortune selling the collection on the black market.”
The insider added that Beckham was informed and was “shocked and deeply saddened”, although her first priority was the driver’s well-being
