Bollywood Loving the song and dance

Bollywood is very close to the hearts of Malaysians. From awarding a Datukship to the famous Shah Rukh Khan to having Bollywood award ceremonies hosted here, everyone here enjoys a good Bollywood film.

This is because a good Bollywood film not only contains an interesting story line, a few catchy tunes and amazing choreography, they also have great actors and actresses! In 2009 itself, many Bollywood films were released – Chandni Chowk to China, Billu Barber, Dil Bole Hadippa, Blue, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani, Aladdin, London Dreams, Love Aaj Kaal, Wake up Sid and What’s your Rashee.

My personal favourite is Dil Bole Hadippa, which is starred by the famous Shahid Kapoor and the one and only, Rani Mukherjee. Many people commented that Rani looked a bit too old for Shahid in the movie. I agree with the age factor but you can’t deny that Rani did a wonderful job playing the role of two different people at the same time! This movie has some catchy tunes and if you enjoy cricket, this is the movie for you! Chandni Chowk to China is definitely another on my list as I love the story line. Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone are the cast in this movie, which is action-packed with a lot of kungfu fighting. Akshay Kumar goes to China thinking he would be more successful there, but he does not know that the actual reason he was brought to China was to fight a villain named Hojo. Bollywood films have definitely made an impact this year with the number of movies released. In India, there’s a huge actor and actress fan following. Even in Malaysia, the fan following is not bad at all. Other than the story lines, songs and choreography, some Hindi films send out good messages that should be remembered by everyone.

Don’t stop watching Bollywood movies as they are bound to get better next year!
