Shocking new revelations surface relating to the John Edwards scandal. Following his admission of fathering a child borne out of his marriage with now estranged wife Elizabeth Edwards, his former aide decided to go public with even more surprising details.
Andrew Young, together with his wife Cheri talked to ABC News‘ Bob Woodruff to let the public know the extent of the former presidential candidate’s relationship with campaign staffer, Rielle Hunter.
Young claimed that over a million dollars were used to cover-up Edwards’ affair with Hunter and to make sure she never gets into the spotlight during the presidential campaign.
Young said, “Money was no object. We were living in mansions, flying around in jets. It was like falling down a rabbit hole.”
20/20 also reports that the late Fred Baron, Edwards’ campaign finance chairman rented a $20,000-a-month Montecito ranch house where the Youngs and Hunter lived waiting for Hunter’s daughter with Edwards to be born.
Additionally, Young says there was even a time when the then-pregnant Hunter even moved in with him, his wife and three children. “It was disgusting. His wife’s stricken with cancer four, five miles from our house, and we felt dirty,” Young says.
