Like to play your games on the go but don’t want a heavy notebook to weigh you down? Dell’s latest ultraportable Alienware M11x gaming notebook may just be what the doctor ordered in this case as it aims to deliver a solid gaming experience that you can take with you on the road.

The Alienware M11x weighs just 1.99kg but it holds the power of a full-fledged gaming notebook, Dell said.

The M11x has an 11in LED backlit screen that is made for watching and playing high-definition graphics at 1,366 x 768-pixel resolution.

If you don’t like gaming on a small screen, you can always hook the M11x up to a larger display using its HDMI output to get the bigger picture.

This sub-class gaming notebook is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 (1.3GHz) processor, 4GB of memory and has a 320GB hard drive.

A true road warrior, the M11x can last up to 8.5 hours giving you ample time to get some serious gaming done, Dell claimed.

With a 1GB nVidia GeForce GT 335M graphics card, the M11x is more than capable of handling most modern graphics-intensive games. When not in full gaming mode, the M11x can run on integrated graphics to extend battery life.

Other features include a 1.3-megapixel webcam and it comes with the Alienware Command Centre software where users can customise the look of their notebook by changing the backlit keyboard’s colour. And speaking of colours, the M11x comes in either black or grey.
