AMERICAN Idol fans, get ready!
Reigning winner and chart-buster Kris Allen will arrive on our shores on Monday, thanks to Star World (the official broadcaster of American Idol) and Astro.

The singer-songwriter from Arkansas, USA will be in Kuala Lumpur to promote his self-titled album which spawned hits such as Live Like We’re Dying and Heartless.

Kris will be available for an autograph session on Monday (see below for details).

There will also be an exclusive performance by Kris (8pm) at The Gardens Ballroom of The Gardens Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Lucky fans also stand a chance to meet the superstar in person in a meet-and-greet session at 10pm. Kris’s self-titled album was released in November last year (he self-produced the 2007 album Brand New Shoes before taking part in the show). After its first week of sales, the album debuted at 11 on the Billboard 200 after selling just over 80,000 copies.

As of January, the album has sold hundreds of thousands of copies. Kris’ debut single Live Like We’re Dying peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, the week following the premiere of American Idol Season 9. Live Like We’re Dying has sold 620,000 copies in digital downloads and continues to climb the charts. Kris’ other song Before We Come Undone was played during the Jan 13 episode of American Idol.

Other tracks in the album are Can’t Stay Away, The Truth, Written All Over My Face, Bring It Back, Red Guitar, Is It Over, Let It Rain, Alright With Me, Lifetime and I Need To Know.

Watch the latest instalment of American Idol Season 9, aired first on Star World (channel 711) every Wednesday and Thursday at 6pm (“live” via satellite) and 8pm (repeat). You can also catch the show on Thursday and Friday at midnight, 7am and 1pm.

On Saturday and Sunday, the show is aired at noon, 8pm and midnight.
