Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan lodged a police report on his alleged sodomy by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim after he was told to do so by hospital authorities.
Doctors at Kuala Lumpur Hospital had refused to conduct any examination on him until he lodged the report, which he did on June 28, 2008, two days after he was allegedly sodomised by his
then boss.

Still under examination-in-chief by Solicitor-General II Datuk Mohd
Yusof Zainal Abiden, the 25-yearold said the report was lodged at KLH.
In his earlier testimony on Wednesday, Saiful told the court that he was sodomised by Anwar in the afternoon of June 26, 2008.
When proceedings continued yesterday morning, Saiful’s testimony on what transpired at the condominium with Anwar was held in camera.
After that session, which lasted about 90 minutes, the court left for the condominium in Damansara where judge Datuk Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah spent an hour going through Saiful’s testimony.
Also present were Anwar and Saiful, together with the prosecution and defence teams.
Later in the afternoon, Saiful took the stand again at the Kuala Lumpur High Court and continued with his testimony on events which transpired after the alleged sodomy incident.
Doctor told Saiful to lodge police report
Saiful said he left the condominium at 4.15pm on June 26. Two days later, he sought treatment at the Tawakal Specialist Hospital in Jalan Pahang.
The hospital, however, turned him away as they were operating half-day that day.
Saiful, who was accompanied by an uncle, then went to Hospital Pusrawi where he was attended to by Dr Mohd Osman Abdul Hamid.
Yusof: What did you tell the doctor?
Saiful: I complained to him of having pain in the stomach and anus.
Yusof: Did he use any instruments?
Saiful: Yes, he inserted something into my anus, but I confessed that I was sodomised and wanted to be examined.
Yusof: What did he do?
Saiful: The doctor stopped examining me and told me to put on my pants.
Yusof: Why?
Saiful: He said the hospital did not have the facilities for forensic examination and that evidence from a private hospital would not be accepted in court. He suggested that I go to KLH.
Saiful arrived at KLH about 3pm and registered himself at the outpatient unit.
He said he first met a female doctor but insisted he be examined by a male doctor as he was embarrassed to tell the doctor his complaint. A male doctor then attended to him.
Yusof: What happened?
Saiful: I was already tired but told the doctor that Anwar had sodomised me. The doctor was shocked. He referred me to the one-stop crisis centre at the hospital.
At the centre, Saiful was told by a doctor there to lodge a police report before they examined him.
Two policemen were sent to the centre and handed him a blank copy to fill in his report.
“I did not call them,” Saiful said.
He told the court he was finally examined about 9pm by four doctors in the presence of several nurses.
Saiful said the doctors questioned him on what had happened in the condominium and later examined him, including his mouth and anus.
He said swabs were used in his anus and samples taken.
“The samples were put in a container and sealed. I was also told to sign a form.”
Saiful said a police officer, whom he identified in court yesterday as investigating officer Superintendent Jude Pereira, came to meet him.
The court will return to the condominium today.
Counsel S.N. Nair, a member of Anwar’s legal team, told reporters that the court would be inspecting the condominium’s management office which controlled all closed circuit television cameras.
He claimed that on their first visit to the condominium yesterday, the judge and prosecution team visited the management office without the defence team and Anwar.

“The judge was on his way back to court when the prosecution contacted him.
“They contacted us as well, but we could not make it.”
Nair pointed out that in a criminal trial, a visit to any place outside court was considered part of the proceedings and the accused and lawyers had to be present.
