Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol testified in a Knoxville courtroom about crank calls and text messages she got after her mother’s Yahoo! e-mail account was illegally accessed.
Knoxnews.com reports it happened in September 2008 after the former Alaska governor was chosen as the Republican vice presidential candidate.
Seventeen-year-old Bristol was pregnant at the time and helping take care of her younger siblings at the family’s remote Alaska home.
She testified about receiving suspicious calls through the night.
Bristol spoke of one “scary” voicemail message in which a group of boys said they were outside the Palin home and needed to be let in.
University of Tennessee student David Kernell is accused of hacking into Sarah Palin’s email account and posting an online screenshot of her email inbox, revealing Bristol’s cell phone number.
Kernell’s attorney says it was a college prank and that Sarah Palin chose to use an Internet email account with inadequate security.
