HD LCD touchscreen BL40

LG has added more style into the latest addition of its Chocolate phone family, the BL40. It has a four-inch, 345×800 pixels HD LCD touchscreen that offers a 21:9 panoramic view of multimedia format, including photo, video, text and Web.

The design also reflects the elegance of LG´s Black Label Series. The buttons, ports and slots are perfectly set and the device fits nicely in the palm.

The Chocolate runs on the S-Class user interface which is bright, colourful, funky and easy to use. Widgets, shortcuts, contacts and browser tools and apps are stylishly organised using the 3D Cube, and you can switch view from one page to another with a single flick.

The touchscreen´s alpha-numeric and the Qwerty keyboards are sensitive to the touch. There is also a recent history button to allow you to reply to a list of your regular contacts.

The four-inch screen is amazing when it comes to accessing menu items, watching movies, playing music and messaging.

You can tilt the phone into landscape mode to enjoy the benefits of the dual-screen as you go through your emails and SMSes. You may need to give the phone a shake if it gets stuck in one orientation.

Web surfing is more fun with the four-inch screen and landscape mode as you can get a better view of websites. You can also surf a few sites at a go using multiple tabs, but the browser lags beyond three tabs.

The BL40 has a 5MP camera and is ready to deliver shots up to 2,560×1,920 pixels and VGA-quality videos at 30 frames per second. The night scene mode can be applied to still shots and video recording.

Being a GPS device with Google Maps support, you can be specific in documenting your collection by geotagging your photos in a few steps.

For videos, you can add colour effects, use zoom and adjust brightness. Music and audio from videos sound good from the supplied headset.

Chocolate is capable of delivering Dolby Mobile 2.0 audio, and it supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+ and WMA9 files.

The pre-loaded games enable you to experience the phone´s built-in accelerometer in action. Check out titles such as Racing Time 2 within the Fun Stuff folder.

Chocolate BL40 is now available for those who can cough up RM2,199 for it.
